On the eve of his side’s final game in South Africa, Great Britain Community Lions captain Sean Wildbore has spoken of the honour bestowed upon him as he hopes to lead his side back home on a high writes Phil Hodgson.

The Skirlaugh second row will be leading from the front tomorrow when the Lions finish their three-game tour with a Test match against the South African Rhinos at Vanderbijlpark, Johannesburg (3.00pm).

“I was lucky enough to tour Australia in 2008 as a player, but to do it again as captain is a massive honour,” said Wildbore.

“We’ve had a great tour so far and the lads have been very professional in all that they’ve done. We’re all now focused on what will be a tough encounter against the Rhinos, but we’ll go into the game in a confident manner after two polished displays so far.

“Having said that we won’t be going into the game over confident. South Africa will be a very tough and physical side and we are under no illusions that it will be a real test for us.”
